Tlie latter began with his customary slowness and turned wide into tlie stretch, but finished with a rush and would have won at a longer distance. DEPOSIT tired in the stretch drive after showing much speed and setting a fast earlv pace". WATER LADY ran fairly well. MISS GAYLE tired badly after following DEPOSIT closelv to the homestretch. The latter was forced back at the start and had to go around the others, then moved up rapidly on the stretch turn, but tired a trifle in the last sixteenth. BERNADOTTE closed a gap and finished resolutelr. TERRA BLANCO tired after racing in early prominence. SUNGUIDE came from a long way back in the Mietch. JUAQUIN showed speed, but dropped back at the end of the first half. BELLE CHILTON set the pace for the first half and iuit.
