GIPSY LOYES HANDICAP P. T. CHINN SADDLES WINNER OF FEATURE RACE AT JUAREZ. Kentucky Contingent Had Backed Her Heartily, While Texans Pinned Their Faith to Littlo Will Jockey Neylon Makes Mistake, El Paso, Tex., January 13. The Laredo Handicap, a sprint at live and one-naif furlongs, for three-year-olds, brought out a select field at Juarez this afternoon. Orb, which had leeii assigned top weight by Secretary Jasper, was withdrawn, leaving eight in the Held. Gipsy Love received the support of the Kentuckians, anil Little Will that of the Texans. The start was a Hying tine, with the whole bunch away from the gate in perfect alignment. They ran so for fully a sixteenth of a mile. Then Captain Burns drew into the clear, followed by Little Will, with the remainder of the field no great distance away. Neylon brought Gipsy Love up on the stretch turn and the filly, wearing the leaders down, got up to win iu the last stride. Bob Hensley came with a great rush, but too late to be better tnan second. Jockey Neylon made lis first mistake of this meeting while astride Old Gotch. He had the first race practically Avon and was only observng the outside horse when Hill slipped up along the rail with Joe Woods and beat Old Gotch a head. It was a clear case of overconfidence on Neylons part. There was a wholesale suspension of riders hero this afternoon. Jockey Bobbins and Booker were each given ten days by starter Cassidy in the first race for disobedience at the post. McDonald and Carroll got ten days from the stewards for rough riding iu the second, jockey Neylon ten days in the fifth for the same offense and Metcalf five days for bothering other horses in the same race. Selling race troubles continue. Dynamo changed hands today. He was entered for 00, but was bid up to 000 by Walter S. Heath, at which price M. Foley sold him. Joe Woods, winner of the first race, was bid up 00 over his entrance iri.ee of 00 by Ike Striker, but was bought in by owner .1. Bishop. At the request of Mose Goldhlatt, trainer for Jefferson Livingston, Iron .Masks attempt to reduce the mile record against time will be deferred until such time as Mr. Livingston can lie present to see his horse run, which probably will be on Sunday, January 23. Goldhlatt is desirous of running Iron Mask in a seven-furlongs race in preparation for his mile effort and such a race probably will be provided.
