Pons did not fare quite so well in the racing of 191." as he did in that of 1012, although he won more races. The high-priced Jack Kellogg failed to race up to expectation and in that and sereral other cases the stable was unlucky, one other instance being that the unbeaten two-year-old, Judge Wright, was so afilicted with lameness that he could be raced last year as a three-year-old. As it was, the veterans of the stable proved ils main reliance and of these John Furlong and Font each won fight races and were the best money winners, John Furlong being something better than an average race horse when at his best, speedy and a good weight carrier.
