RACING RUMOR FROM HOT SPRINGS. The following press dispatch was sent out from Hot Sorings. Ark.. Sunday: "That there will he a nice meeting in Hot Springs, opening on St. Pat ricks day, for twenty-one days and possibly thirty days. Is practically assured now that the proposal ! organize a Citizens" Jockey Club has met with general public approval. A temporary organization lias hren formed, with Harry A. Jones as chairman and Douglas llotehkiss as secretary. The organization has the assurance that the Oaklawu track will lie given free for two years. At the Chicago office of John Condon, who owns a substantial interest in the Oaklawu track, it was declared yesterday that .Mr. Condon was without any Information of I he promised plan to revive racing at Hot Springs. Another dispatch from Hot Springs is to this effect: "Iyjilis A. Vila, of St. Louis, principal owner of tlio Daklawii race track, second only in grandeur lo Itelmont Park, has turned the course over to a delegation of the- Spas leading business men ami a thlrtv-days" race meeting is planned, starting March 1.1 or 17. Vila demands that 0,000 he posted lo guarantee any iiossible deficit when the meeting is over. This must he posted hy Tuesday, and the local folks, at their meeting at the Hotel Lastman last t night, stated that the money had already iveen raised and would he promptly lasted. Cella exacts that he rend two experienced racing men here to run the Hireling, and it is generally thought that John Jlacluneister; who is the St. Louis turfmans active agent, will he in charge, and that Edward Magltin will he associated with him. The races are wanted to afford entertainment for the visitors. The local season generally comes to an end the last week In March and with. raping 011 at Oaklawu until the middle of April the season will he lengthened. There will also lie a thirty-days meeting next fall If nil goes well this spring. There will not he any hookiilaklug. the parl-miituel system being the one expected to he in vogue." 1
