JUAREZ RACING IS SPIRITED ASK MA AND C05GR0VE FIGURE IN ESPECIALLY THRILLING CONTEST. Two Run Like a Team for Entire Length of Stretch Rooster Wins by a Nose from Twenty to One Shot, Lady Pender. El Paso, Tc.., February The linislies in the majority of the races at Juarez today were close and exciting. In the fourth race. Ask .Ma and Cosgrove fought it out like stake horses from the head of the stretch to tlie stand. Not only was it a grand test as between the racers, but for jockeys as well. Jockey Ford brought Ask Ma up on the outside as the turn for home was made, and draw ing up o:i equal terms with Cosgrove. he rode only with hands and heels, while Claver applied his whip. Had Ford resorted lo the whip, he would undoubtedly have thrown his mount oh his stride, but. using good judgment, he followed out his first intentions and landed Ask Ma the winner by a nose. The fifth race likewise found owner W. C. Clancy and jockey Claver figuring in another nose decision, but this time it was in their favor. Rooster got up in the last stride to beat Lady Pender, a 20 to I shot. The racing as a whole was keenly contested throughout. There was many arrivals today. Among them were Price McKinney and James Corrigan from Cleveland, Messrs. McKimicy and Corrigan are heavily interested in the Jockey Club Juarez, and both ale thorough sportsmen.
