JOCKEY KIRSCHBAUM LOSES HIS LICENSE. Ruling Against Rider Follows Disqualification of Bens Brother in Race at Juarez. F.l Paso, Tex., February 9. The biggest Monday crowd of the meeting was on hand at Juarez today and the layers reported that the volume of money handled was far in excess of that of any previous Monday since the meeting opened here this season. The first disqualification of the meeting took place in the opening race. Jockey Kirschbaum had the mount on Uens Brother, which was coupled in the betting with Don Cortez, from the stable of J. F. and II. S. Newman. The field broke to a fine- start and four of them were running on equal terms about a quarter ont, with Bens Brother on the outside, Vicars Daughter next, then .Miss Fielder and Milton Barber on the rail. Kirschbaum kept crowding his mount against the others and in turn forced them all lo pull tip. He made no apparent effort to straighten- his mount and nearly caused the others to fall. Kirschbaum was summarily punished, for the following ruling was issued against him: "For deliberate, wilful and repeated rough riding and for openly defying the starter and his authority, the license of jockey C. Kirscliluiuni is revoked by the stewards." Only one favorite managed to win, but several well-backed horses were among the winners. Cordie F.. winner of the closing race, was advanced to 00 from an entered price of 00 by an unknown bidder and was bought in by I. J. .Aliles.
