THE BELMONT HORSES IN ENGLAND. The retirement of Tracery is shared by Golden Rock, Monotone and Sand Glow as far as Mr. Belmont is concerned, and bis figbting force now numbers seven. The good-looking Singapore should certainly prove worthy of better things than the object for which he was purchased from Sir R. C. Garton, viz., to lead the big horse Tracery iii bis work. Don de Roca, 3. a dark brown colt, has yet to make bis debut, but be is business-like, and a capable looking customer, with quality, power and size to recommend him; and of much the same character, if somewhat leggy and perhaps not quite so robust of build, is Black AValnut, which has good racing points, and looks like going fast. He only ran once last year, when unplaced to Kenny- more, Corcyra and Carrickfergus for the Dewhurst Plate, but it niav be- well to remember that he is brother to the luckless Black Rock, which was winning the Findon Stakes at Goodwood won by Maiden Erlegh when he broke down so badly two years ago that he had to be destroyed. That was his only race, and it may be taken for granted that he was a smart horse. There is much to admire about Yuba Bill, which showed fine promise ou more than one occasion last year, and although a bit dipped in his back will be unlucky if he does not strike a bracket this year. The three two-year-olds are all by Rock Sand and racing like. Danger Rock, son of Delusion, a light chestnut, well grown and of fine quality, looks all over like racing, and. If a little deficient in size, Fenmouse. daughter of Flittermouse, is a strong, lengthy filly, ou good short legs, that should surely pay her way. Sand-mole, out of the dam of Merry Task, is a closely knit hard bay colt, well furnished, and already sufficiently forward to suggest an early appearance. He is quite a fine horse in every respect and. his engagements include the "Brocklesby" at Lincoln; for which lie looks like being ready if wanted, "Vigilant," in London Sportsman.
