RUNS FAST SEYEN-EIGHTHS DOROTHY DEAN RKuUCES JUAREZ TRACK RECORD FOR DISTANCE TO 1:23. Fuller Maro Accomplishes Notable Feat in Winning San Felipo Handicap Jockey Gross Shows Bit of Old Time Skill. El Paso, Tex., February 10. Dorothy Dean, from the stable of J. W. Fuller, reduced the Juarez track record for seven furlongs to 1:23 in winning the San Felipe Handicap this afternoon. She won under a mild hand ride and was drawing clear from New Haven at the finish. It was a grand race to witness. New Haven made the pace, followed closely by the good three-year-old, Bob Hensley, recently purchased by Jefferson Livingston. Then came Gordon Russell, and a short distance behind, the favorite, Dorothy Dean. As they came down the stretch it looked as if Bob Hensley would le returned the winner, as be was gaining rapidly on New Haven, but suddenly Dorothy Dean came like a flash and, passing both the leaders, reduced the record made not long ago by Pay Streak. Jockey Gross showed some of his old-time form today in piloting the last two winners, Goldtinu and Prince Conrad. Both received giltedged rides that materially helped them to win their races. The layers recovered some of their recent losses today, as only one favorite got home first. John O. Ferris purchased Polls today from Henry McDauiel. Trainer W. Scolieid acted for the latter. L. W. Hicks has purchased 3, B. Robinson and Curlicue from M. Shields. Jockey Chris Kirsehbaum, whose license was yesterday revoked by the stewards, will depart iu a few days for his home in San Francisco. S. N. llolman, who has been here in the interest of the Dorval stakes, departed today for Charleston. F. J.
