ENGLISH ANB AUSTRALIAN HORSES. The Idea of English horses being no good for racing in Australia and Australians no good in England is exploded, says the "Australasian." Positauo. Ku-dorus. Almissa, Sea Prince. Sir Footc and others have broken up that notion in Australia; while New-haven, The Grafter, Merman, Maluma, Georgie. Paris, Australian Star and a few more from this countrv have done pretty well in England. England will not take our race horses now, because she wants the best and they cannot he got at the "prices paid for Merman, Newliaven, and The Grafter. Tor Wakeful 4,000 guineas was oiiered and refused. Whether breeders of yearlings will suffer through the demand for the English horse remains to be seen. So far no Australians have taken to buying good yearlings in England: and no breeder in the old country has thought it worth while to mate mares to Australian time for the sake of winning our two and three-year-old races.
