I + LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS OF THE PAST SEVEN YEARS ii *- + It does not speak well for the ability of present day jockeys in America that riders who have long since ceased to be seen in the saddle in this country continue to monopolize the leading positions in the tabulation jockeys credited with one hundred or more winning mounts in the years from 1907 to lOlu, inclusive. B 11. Shilling, who heads the list, has been under suspension since the season of 1912. V. Powers, who is •■cond. has been riding in France since l.iio. and Eddie Dugan. who is third, has been a member of the America! colony of riders in Continental Europe for the past two years. E. Martin stands highest of the jockeys in the list who are still riding in this county, with J. Butwell and J. MeCahey following in the order named. The fluctuating fortunes of the leading jockeys of North America during the years named and the amounts won by fheiu for their employers are herewith shown: 1907. 1908. 19 I9. 1910. 1911. 1912. 1913. , -Totals , Amount old ol •fockoys. 1st. 1st. 1st. 1st. 1st. 1st. 1st.
