June ft. — The extreme heat, coupled with an ordinary offering, accounted for a smaller attendance than was expected at Latonia this after noon and also caused a falling off in the volume of speculation. Bac suffered extensive interference on the stretch l urn and again in the last furlong. Neylon may Inn. been to blame for Irving to get through au Impossible opening, but the majority seemed to think Martin, on Othello, was at fault. Jefferson Livingston won a purse when Cash On Delivery sprinted home an easy winner in the fifth race. The horse was taken oft the cars only a few hours before starling in the race and for that reason the big operator- did not have much confidence iu his abilii.v to win. George M. Bendrie vvou his tirst purse of the season when Rancher seared impressively in the opener over Chesterton and Rhodes.
