JARDYS SON WINS A GREAT RACE. Jardy is going great guns with his stock iu the Argentine, and now that his son, Irigoyen, a five-year-old, has won the 0,000 Grand Prize of Honor and the accompanying gold cup, he cannot he far behind Polar Star in the race for tho leadership among the stallions. It may, however, be a near thing between Jardy, Old Man aud Cyllene, which are at present all in the running, with Polar Star as the leader. The Prize of Honor only brought out a field of seven, but they were a good lot. aud Irigoyens time for the distance, two miles and 330 yards, was 3:50. Irigoyen belongs to the Los Cardos Stud, and was ridden by I. Bnglander. who. judging from the manner of his finish, according to a photograph, had an "armchair" ride. Jardy is by Flying Fox Airs and Graces, whose half-brother, St. Alwyne. is in the first twelve in the list of winning stallions In Australia.
