KENTUCKY COMMISSIONER LIFTS BAN. Louisville, Ky., November li. Commissioner of Agriculture Newman has partly removed the ban aguinst the shipment into Kentucky of horses and mules, barred since the outbreak of the hoof aud month disease, and issued regulations under which shipments may be made into the state. He also, announced lie would modify regulations which now prevent horse or mule-drawn vehicles from crossing Into- Louisville from Indiana. As a -result of Mr. Newmans first action five or six carloads of thoroughbred horses, now being held iir Cincinnati, may be brought into Kentucky after certain requirements are met. These, In the main, are that such stock must have been held in non-infected territory at least ten days before entering Kentucky, and that upon being admitted must be held in quarantine another ten days. They are set forth in detail in the following order: "Horses, mules and jack stock originating in the quarantined area in counties where no cases of ftiot alid mouth disease is known to exist, may collie in car;; to a point in Kentucky to be designated by the Kentucky Livestock Sanitary Hoard mid go "into quarantine for a period of ten days provided lief ore entering the State of Kentucky the cars in which shipment is made shall be disinfected and the horses, mules or jacks therein disinfected aiid the cars sealed by federal inspector. "The !-ame shall apply where shipment of horses lias originated in counties where the disease is known to exist provided same have been held for ten days under federal or state supervision previous to entering Kentucky." I
