NORTHERN RACING AT END H.A.VRE DE GRACE MEETING CLOSES WITH BIG CROWD IN ATTENDANCE. Fliltergold Wins the Royal Blue Handicap, Stake Feature of Getaway Bay Card Big Movement of Horses and Followers of SpOTt to Charleston. Havre do Grace, Md., November 30. Racing in the north came to a close this afternoon with the iinal dav at the local course. There was a big attendance to hid good-bye to the thoroughbreds and much enthusiasm marked the running or the races, showing that, notwithstanding the long season in Maryland, there lias been no diminution of interest. The crowd was larger than any except on Thanksgiving day. Sums first-class sport was provided, witli the stake event, the Royal Blue Handicap, one mile and seventy vards, furnishing" one t" the best finishes of the meeting. The winner was August Belmonts I littergold. with Harry Shaw second aud Pomette Bleu third. Yodeling was the only other starter and he was outclassed. But for racing luck the Montpelier Stables Iontette Bleu would have been returned the winner. Harry Shaw was the leader and ran lapped by Flittergohl to the turn for home, with Pomette Bieu rated behind the pacemakers. Inside the last furlong Flittergohl closed on Harry Shaw and Iomette Bleu, which was taken wide in entering the stretch, closed with a rush. These three hooked up in a furious drive in the last sixteenth and Flittergohl won by a head, with Harry Shaw Iieating Iomette Bleu a nose for second place. McCahey kept Iomette Bleu too far out of it in the early racing. The opening race went to Useeit. which beat 1rnlrie and Isidora. The latter was the public choice and Coy was well backed, but the latter received a bungling ride. Useeit was in front all the way. Idle Michael captured the steeplechase in runaway style. He went to the front on the second turn and" won by as far as his rider pleased, with Orowoc second and Mystic Light third. Joe Finn and Undaunted were both claimed out of the first race on Saturday, the former by A. L. Aste. and Undaunted by Clarence Herbert. Two big specials, one Over te Pennsylvania, and the other oyer tho RallUUorp m Ohio, departed for Charleston at the conclusion of the races. The delegation exceeded in point of numbers that of either last year or the previous season, which makes it apnear as if rue meeting in South Carolina this winter will be a most successful one. Several stables will be shipped to Belmont Park and Sheepshead Bay tomorrow. The Siioepshead Bay consignment will include the strings of A. L. Aste, W. T. Anderson. August Belmont, William II. Kar-rick, A. J. Goldsborough, Max Hirsch. James McLaughlin, Jr., T. F. Cablll, Andrew Miller, James Fitzslmhions, Harry J. Morris and D. J. Leary. The Belmont Park lot will include the strings of R. F. Oannau the Montrelier- Stable, Silas Veitch and John L. Coyle. William Garth, Dr. J. S. Tyree and Samuel Ross will ship their stables to Bennlng. The filly Coquette has been turned over to A. J. Goldsborough. who will winter her at Gravesend with the Andrew Miller-Foxliall Keene horses. Edward Trotter purchased the two-year-old filly Leonnino from H. P. Whitney, and left for Norfolk lust night to arrange for her shipment to Charleston. The division of the Whitney horses that Albert Simons is training was shipped to Norfolk last week. T. F. Sheedy purchased Tiara and Estimable from W. T. Anderson. The latter also disposed of the plater Peielus to W. P. Fine. Mr. Anderson will ship the remainder of his string to Gravesend and will also take care of Ten Point and Robert L. for A. L. Aste during the winter.
