Of the repatriated ones, Nightstick, Borrow, Pan-uean and Paintbrush were the best winners. Next year this division of the Whltuev stable will be vastly strengthened by the addition of Harmonicon, a horse of the highest class in England and one naturaUv Mftcd with amazing speed. .Iii .the Broomstick Jersey Lightning Ally Regret, the stable contained whaV n.ay have been the best, two-year-old of the year. At any rate, she won all of her races, taking in succession the Saratoga Special, banford Memorial Stakes and Hopeful Stakes, twice defeating the great colt Pebbles, to say nothing of such other cracks as Trojan, Sol.y, Lady Barbary, Garbage, Paris, Luke and 1 rial by Jury.
