LATEST ARRIVALS AT NEW ORLEANS. New Orleans, La., December 5. The stables of J. AA May, George AAr. Innes, John Nieol and Tom Scott, well-known Kentucky horsemen, have arrived for the winter meeting which opens Jan. 1 at the Fair Grounds track. All the horses were unloaded in good condition. May brought the three-year-old Manioc and five yearlings. Innes had James Dockery. Malabar, two coming two-year-olds, and The Gander, which last was put up for sale at Lexington recently aud bid in by E. R. Bradley for delivery to AAHliam Hurley, whose stable is now at the Fair Grounds. Nicol brought Cuple, Forest Gate and two coming two-year-olds, one of which is a gray filly by Marta Saiita. Tom Scott had Blue Jay, Colonel Fred. O.ga Star and four coming tworyear-olds, sired respectively by Stalwart, Transvaal, Marathon and Con-tcstor. One of the Innes yearlings is by Cunard, and is particularly promising. May is a veteran and will have his family here with him. He looks forward to a very pleasant visit iu New Orleans. Pending the selection of a suitable apartment in the vicinity of the track, the May family will reside at the St. Charles Hotel. "I heard Judge Murphy explain how New Orleans business men were going to conduct a high-class, clean race meeting here," remarked May. "There isnt a horseman in the country biit isnt keen on seeing the sport restored here, for everyone loves the Crescent City, aud I for one am going to do everything in my power to make the meeting a success." Jack Thornby arrived from AAashington today and reported that three cars, containing approximately thirty-seven horses, would arrive tonight from Penning. Included among the thoroughbreds will be Robert Bradley, The Rump, Jim Basev Egeria, Mediator and others that raced well 6n eastern tracks. Among the horsemen whose strings are included in the shipment are .T. R. Thornby, former jockey AAillie Martin, AV. R. Mizell and Fred Foster. A letter from Thomas J. Brown at Charleston, who has jockey Murphy under contract, says: "I want to engage eight stalls, for which I have already spoken to Mr. McLennan. Tell Judge Murphy the horsemen are enthusiastic over tlie coming meeting. Jockey Murphy will come with me." Tonight 113 horses are quartered at the Fair Grounds.
