The plater An-oon, which each season here takes oil a nev lease of life, figured prominently in ho racing again today when he accounted for the sprint handicap and defeated some good opposition, including Colle, Wanda litzer and Judge Wright. Fmerald Gem and Lochiel were the other starters in the race; but their un-rnlv actions at the barrier caused theni to be left at "the post. The running was entirely dominated bv Anoon. which eventually lasted to beat the fast liiiishiiig Colle. Judge Wright tlntshefV in a fashion that indicated he would stand further training. Continued cold weather kept down tlie attendance to the regulars, but the betting was again of good volume. The mile handicap under selling conditions was won by C. Herberts Joe Finn, which led all the wav and scored over Orperth and Chnrtior. The latter was backed to the vlrtqnl seclusion of every other starter, but weakened at the crucial period. Hie Herbert establishment made it a double during the afternoon when rnjautlted-accounted for the iiftli race, Dixie, iu the opener, enabled Jockey Trox-ler to pilot his last winner for the next five days, the term for which he was suspended by the stewards on account of rough riding iu yesterdays third race. II. Laffertys effort while astride Bayberry Candle, earned for him an indefinite suspension from the stewards, because of incompetency. Shadracb was the tip for the hccond, but Colors, the favorite, won with ease. Grazelle, which was badly cut down in a race a few days ago, was destroyed this morning as a result of her injuries.
