ONE THOUSAND GUINEAS TO VATJLUSE London Eug April 30 At Newmarket today being the last day of the Newmarket First Spring meeting the One Thousand Guineas of 100 sov ¬ ereigns each for three year old fillies over the Rowley Mile was won by Lord Rosebervs bay filly Vaucluse by Dark Ronald Valve E IJui tons chestnut filly Silver Tag by SundridgC Sil ¬ ver Fowl was second and J B Joels brown filly Bright by Sundridge Doris third thirdVaucluse Vaucluse did not race as a twoyearold last year and so far as is now known this was her first start Silver Tag raced brilliantly last year taking in succession the Khedive Plate at New ¬ market Cliftonville Plate at Brighton Manchester Autumn Breeders Foal Plate at Manchester Bos cawen Stakes at Newmarket anil the Bretbv Stakes at the same place Bright is a sister to Sunstar the Knsom Derby winner of 1911 and half sister to Princess Dnrrie winner of the One Thousand and the Oaks of last year She did not win an a twoyearold but in live races was second to Friar Marcus in the Great Surrey Foal Stake at Ep ¬ som third to Lady Josephine and Costello In the Coventry Stakes at Ascot and third to Friar Marcus and Snow Marten in the Prince of Wales Stakes at Goodwood
