WRACKS NEWBURY SPRING CUP VICTOPY Lord Roseberys Wrack won the Xewbury Cup April 10 with great case leading London Sports ¬ man to say That there was something wrong aliont the running of Wrack In the Lincolnshire Handicap was abundantly illustrated by the result of the Xewbury Spring Cup on Saturday when history repeated Itself in the easy sitccess of the son of Robert de Diable ami Samphire which won tho race a year ago On that occasion Bine Stone was runnerup and it was anticipated with some confidence that Mr Joels horse would at the second attempt go one better so Hint he started a good first favorite His show however was disappointing and Ontrani which like the winner had not run up to expectations on the Carholme filled second place past the post Wrack is evi ¬ dently quite at home at Xewlmry whether on tho lint or over hurdles and in his case the axiom of M orses for courses receives another ex ¬ emplification Lord Rosebery is fortunate in own ¬ ing such a versatile thoroughbred as Wrack which lias distinguished himself during the jumping cam ¬ paign now drawing to close and looks like doing a deal more valuable service for his popular owner
