The opening of j the Back River Jockey Clubs track took place 2 day with the Inaugural Handicap as the feature 5 race. This was won by Mud Sill, which came from behind after being outpaced in the early running. Hearthstone, carrying the colors of the Yaiiov Brae Stable, forced the early pace, bat piit badly j at the end. 1 The plant is up to date. Although the stand has , been completed it has not been painted. The meet , ing gives promise of being successful. The going, for a new track, was remarkably ■ fast.
