HORSE TRAINS TO BAYAIA H. D. BROWNS ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE TRANSFER OF RACING STABLES. Baltimore to Be the Point of Departure for Whole-sale Shipments — H. G. Bedwell to Have ■ Biggest String at Oriental Park. J I Italt iinor -. Mil.. Novemlier S. — Before leaving for t Havana on Wednesday last. H. D. Brown, general , manager of the Ciilw-Auierican Jockey Club, an- • nnuiiccd to tlie liorseinen that arrangements for the transfer of the horses from Maryland to Cuba had been fully eoni|ilcte 1. The railroads have promised , to provide special trains which will run passenger , train time so as to insure a siieedy journey front Baltimore to Key West. It is doubtful if the old , Burton cars will lie used for the shipment. Bag- | aage ears will instead lie used, in which iMirlable stalls will be installed. This will nieau that the i trip to Havana will Ik- made with much more com- , fort than last season. The cars will Ik- roomier, there will l»e more ventilation, and it will lie possible to attain greater s| c il en route. The program ImioL compiled by Secretary Martin Nat bauson for the first nine days has pleased the horsemen immensely-. The conditions of the races have been framed to suit all classes of horses, antl it is the intention of the management to provide races suitable to the material at hand. H. G. Bedwell will have the largest stable quartered at Oriental Bark. His present plans are to ship at least two carloads, and possibly three, to Cuba. His consignment will include the horses he raced on the Canadian tracks, besides a number that were turned out during the summer months at his farm near Laurel, this state. The apprentice rider. P. Cooper, whose contract Bedwell purchased from Willie Martin, will accompany the stable to Havana. Kddie Tapliu. who rode in Cuba for Bedwell last winter, is at present on his ranch iu California. Before leaving Canada Tapliii announced his intention of returning to the saddle this winter, and that he would make the trip from California to Havana: so it looks as if the Bedwell stable might have two riders. J. W. Pangle and James Arthur are other turfmen who will return to Havana. Both were successful at the Mariauao track last winter. Bangle will ship about a ln7.cn horses, and his lot will include. besides Yellow Eyes and Aldebaran. the two-year-olds 1rohibition. Broom Corn and Moonstone. Arthur will have a powerful stable, having gathered to- some fresh material during the jiast month, f;ether fart Dernhaiii will accompany the Arthur stable to Havana this winter. J. W. Hedriek is another turfmao who has decided to return lo Cuba. He, too. will have a big string. Almost every horseman I who raced at Mariauao last winter will return, which in Itself s|»caks well for the sport in Havana. Besides, there will Ik* a number of new recruits. The prosjiects look bright for a successful meeting.
