The mile was run iu 1:39%. and it was lie Wills seventh victory out of eight starts in Maryland this fall. The Olcnmorc Handicap, which was at one mile and a half, had an unsatisfactory ending. Metilu Park, which ran a smashing g«SMl race and was only beaten a nose by Billie Baker iu the closing stride, was disqualified by the stewards for what they regarded as a foul. Hildreth the Belmont two-year-olds High Horse and Trend. They are intended for racing at Havana, to which place the entire Herz string will bo shipjied immediately following the close of the Bowie meeting. Edward Trotter has decided to winter his horses at Charleston and they will be sent to Palmetto Bark daring the latter part of the month. The program at Pimlico tomorrow is made of seven handicaps, something original in these days of cheap selling races. Of the seventy-two named for one of these handicaps, no less than forty accepted and the race was split and will lie run as .the first and third races. Herliert L. Pratt was a visitor at Iimlico thi-s afternoon. He came over to see his iuinper Superhuman in the third race. Howard Maxwell, whose colors will be seen on II10 turf for the first time next year, was another visitor. Mr. Maxwell, who is a brother-in-law of Joseph E. Davis, has three yearlings at the Waldeu Farm at Middlchurgh, Md. These yiamtsters wen-tried yesterday and Mr. Maxwell was well pleased with their showing. J. E. Davis was also at tltci Waldeu Farm to see his youngsters given their Baal trials before going into winter quarters. Jockey J. Butwell was sn»|iended for the remainder of the meeting after the Cclandria disqualification. Captain Duhain. who is in charge of the linkor-ton forces at the Maryland tracks, secured a conviction of the ticket forger W. C. Jones, whom he arested at I-aurel after Jones had cashed a forged ticket on Scaramouch. Jones claimed to be a waiter from Rockaway Beach. N. Y. On Oetolier 12. at Laurel, lie forged a ticket by cutting out the numlier 5 on a Hester Prynne ticket and substituted a figure 9. The following day he forged a ticket on Dodge, which called for .4o, and was arrested by Captain Duhain about two minutes after he cashed it. When searclie-l. tho paraphernalia that Jones used to fix the tickets up was found on his person. Tlie trial was held at Annapolis this morning before Judge Bushearn. Jones plead guilty and was sentenced to two years in the penitentiary. Commencing with Wednesday next and for tie? remainder of the meeting, the jiost time for tho opening race will be 1:45 instead of 2 oclock as heretofore. Short days are responsible for tho changing of the time. Buzz Around, winner of the last race, was bid up to ,005. an advance of 05 over her entered price and was retained by .1. Arthur.
