Nearly All of the Prominent Eastern Stables to Take Part in the Racing — Probable Starters in the Inaugural Handicap. Baltimore, Md.. Novemlier 9. — The Bowie track is iu sujierb condition for the reception of the thor- oughbreds. Every stall within the enclosure has been bedded. Superintendent Tom Strahan. a veteran track caretaker, has the course in great shape, and it is faster than at any time since it was built. Work lias practically lieen finished on the pari-mutuels. which system of lietting will lie in vogue for the first time since Bowie was placed wi the turf map. Tlie mutiicl system of wagering as it will lie conducted at Prince Georges Park promises to make a distinct hit. for several new features will surely satisfy those who are par- tial to this form of betting. Nothing has Iiceu overlooked for the convenience of the public, chief of which will be the selling of straight, place and show tickets by one seller, which will eliminate a trip to three different booths, as is the custom at oilier eastern tracks where the mutuels are mcd. But few stables of importance will lie missing when the sport is on at Bowie. The silks of vir tually all of the foremost American turfmen will be seen during the racing at Bowie, for among the stables which will be shipped to Prince Georges Iark will be those of It. T.
