Ky.. for the coming season. Tlie Canadian Racing Associations, it is said, will provide for the appointment of a patrol judge to follow the entire Canadian circuit, displacing the local officials who have heretofore served in such capacities at the various tracks. Charles L. I--iiisdalc will ten Ml f.aton:a for Bowie on Saturday and Frank J. Bruen will leave for New Orleans at the same time. From these points they will make their way to Cuba and be there long before December 10. the opening day. The Minnehaha, which recently arrived at New York from Egland. brought a couple of two-year-. olds sent to this country by A. J. Joyner, F.ngelbert. by Caius — Orla and Faux Col, by Valens — Collet Monte. Pahe. administrator of John Wiesen, Louisville. Ky.. has filed suit in Covington. Ky., against the South Covington and Cincinnati Street Railway C pany. for 0,000 damages. Wiesen was report - ing the races at the Latonia. Ky.. race course dur- ing the last summer meeting, and was injured as a passenger on one of the companys cars by lieing thrown to Ihe aisle by an alleged faulty condition of Hie street car and sustained injuries about the head which resulted fatally. At Churchill Downs last Saturday Price McKin ney and James Corrigan. with Philip .T. Dwyer and George J. Long as expert guests, witnessed speed trials of twenty-five yearlings which will race for Corrigan and McKinncy next year. Fifteen were tried, then, after a stable dinner was disposed of, ten more. Time made by the youngsters is a stable secret for the present, but it is said that the trials wire highly satisfactory and indicative of the in- elusion of souk- real Mers in the big band. Five carloads of horses, three from I.alonia and I two sent ovor from Lexington, left Latonia for Havana Monday morning. In tbe cars were the horses of G. II." Keene. A. J. Deuny. T. J. Harmon, T. In another car when the horse train left Latonia i Monday were seventeen of the latest brand of • "Hachmcistcr" inntuel machines, made in Ciuciu-. nati. Three of the big machines of the twenty-1 dollar type were sent and the other fourteen were of the single style. The machines were declared to I* the liest of the Hachineister brand. Several improve-,, incuts on the machines Used at Latonia and Douglas Park were made.
