At Newmarket September 10. 1914. Mr. John Sin ford gave 1.400 guineas, or $ 1 7.0*0. for the yearling ; bav colt by William the Third — Veneration II. . lieing a half brother to Craganour and one of the , costliest youngsters of the year. Much was expected of him. but he proved an utter failure iu English lacing this year. Hie started in five races and was unplaced in all but one finishing second in that one to Eos in tlie Soltykoff Stakes at Newmarket July 13. W. II. Karrick who has hitherto wintered the horses of S. L. Parsons and the Oneck Stable at Sheepslieail Bay. will have IhiIIi strings quartered at Belni lit Park this winter, lie is arranging to have the stable intended for their use improved and re modeled in a manner similar to that of the Cochran 1 stable, which is prououueed by trainers who have seen it to be ■■ the finest establishments ever seen on ally race track iu this country.
