KENTUCKY CONSIGNMENT REACHES HAVANA. IIiMtin.i. Cuba. November 10.— With the arrival here .if several carloads of ls.rses from Latonia and I. -iugto!i. Ky.. the raee course has begun to take ■■ a lively aspect, and from now on the arrivals will be numerous: as the racing season in the east iu Maryland is on the wane, and the owners want lo get to the winter tracks. When the Kentucky consignment of ten carloads arrived here Friday there was not a sick horse in Ihe lot. Both horses mikI men stood the trip well, and there was no delay at any Stage of the journey. Last year many of tile horses were held up at Key West, but this year his drawback lias been eliminated, and the horse*- come right through. Horses which will niiue by way of New Orleans or Tampa. Fla.. likewise will meet with no delay, and there are many owuer* who will aikipt these routes. The horses which came from the Iuited States can l e given work outs immediately, ;is the track is in iiijw-rh condition, b. ing faster than :;t any time lasi winter. Most of those which arrived are til to race at a moments notice, and practically all of them have l eeu winners on the race tracks in the Initcd States within the past few mouths. The horses which arrived lielnug to the following owners: . «:. Hamilton. R. White. A. L. Taylor. S. J. Kelley. T. J. Csrroll. B. J. Towers. Frank Rector. . Bo-gau. . B. Davis. J. O. and O. II. Keetie. Tom Ii-vin. Toui llanuoii. George L. thaucellor. Hairy Van It v and Logan Denny. There were many yearlings which will lie ready to race January 1 in the consign men t, and the juvenile division of horses will be especially strong this winter. Owners have no hesitancy in saying thai the climate here is agr.-eable to young horses. The horsemen were surprised at the many iin-provetneiits which have l*ecn made here, and all pronounced the barns at the Oriental Iark the best they have ever seeu. There is room here to take • are of a lot of horses, but at the rate applications are pouring in for stable room, practically all of the stables will lie taken. aVajRSKa received from Frank Rrucii. Charles Lausdale and Harry White, the lirst two in tincinnati and the latter iu Baltimore, indicate that there is much interest in the Havana meeting, and each day linds them receiving uior-- applications for stalls. When the meeting at Bowie. Md.. ends the real infltiv of horses will begin, and that will give the owners plenty of time to get their charges acclimated. At present the weather here is liie a June day in the States, and this is the way it will be all winter barring unusually rainy weather such a*- prevailed la«t winter for the lirst time in many years. General Manager H. I. Brown now has the various improvements at Oriental lark about completed, and the iii —tiiig could open tomorrow if necessary. Tie- new style pari mil t ml machines are in place, and they have been given a thorough inspection by the local race-goers. This form of belting proved popular here last year, even with the old-style machines. However, it is the intention of General Manager Brown to give everybody the choice as to how to bet. and tor that reason the bookmakers will ojierate also.
