, - . 1 , 1 i * * WINNINGS OF THE HORSES IN THE STABLE OF A TWICE LEADER OF THE AMERICAN TURF I 4, — . — . ■ Mr. Jolin W. Schorr, of Memphis, lias long lieen associated with racing, but it was only in recent years that he attained the much coveted distinction of heading the list of Aunt ricau winning owners for a year. This he did in 1912 and by way of good measure repeated in 1914. In tlds latter year his two threc-year- lds, Luke McLuke and David Craig, together won for him the good sun of 4,040. But this year Luke McLuke was a hopeless cripple and David Craig out of form, with nothing of any great racing merit to figure iu their places. The result was a great falling off In stable earning s from the 5,320 of 1014. which then put him at the- head of affairs. This year his best winner was the three-year-old gelding. Goldcrest Boy, a speedy customer, but merely of the useful order and not classing with his stablemate. Ed Crump, which was second to him in money won. Much more was expected froir, Ed Crump than he achieved and there is no doubt that he disappointed his owner greatly. But he is quite a good colt and may make re-comiiense in the racing of 1910. Old Rosebuds brother, Mars Cassidy. did fairly well for the stable, but Is far away from being such an imperial creature as the Kentucky Derby winner of PJ14.
