EARLY TWO-YEAR-OLD RACING BARRED. It is reported that the recommendation of a s|M-cial committee that the early racing of two-year-olds tie prohibited has been agreed upon. The conference was attended bv Senator Johnson N. Camden, representing the Kentucky State Racing Commission; August Belmont, of the Jockey Ciub, and W. P. Eraser, of the Canadian Racing Associations. It was decid-d that thev would rejiort to their respective organizations tliat thev had each one individuallv agreed to the incorporation in the rules of racing the following MMM rule: "No burse foaled in 1915 or thereafter shall run in any race before April of it* two. year-old vea . under penalty of thereby disqualifying itself for all races under these rules until December SI., of its two-year-old year." The above rule, which will be adopted in all probability by the various associations represented, means that the winter race tracks will have to worry along without anv tw.. vear-old races after December :tl. It may be said that the contracting bodies are not in any way affected, for tin- reason that none of them conducts racing before April 1. anyhow. The rule is one promised by apt. E. B. Catwatt. for the purpose of preventing the premature raring of two-year olds to permit them as much time as possible for growth and development.
