During the five days of the sale Johnson N. Camden got a prize for his breeding farm in the nine-vear-old mare Barrone. by Melton — Baroness Le Fleche. Her sin-. Melton, was the sire of Sysonhy. one of the best horses ever owned by the late James R. Keene. Barrone is in foal to Valens, a promising young English sire. Hetirv T. Oxnard purchased the filly Hortense, by Troutbeck — Huardina. which was consigned by tue Duke of Westminster and which is descended from Flving Fox. The three-year-old Orange Lady, by William the Third— Lady Cynosure, the latter :t sister to Polymelus. the leading English sire of 1915. was purchased for Joun Sanford.
