•i» * ; STABLE RETURNS OF A KENTUCKY TURFMAN WHO HAS RETIRED FROM THE TURF ■i i Amos Turney. whose retirement from racing was recently announced, has lieen a participant in the sport for many years and in his time raced a number of high-class horses. He was conspicuously successful in 1913 when his horses won 1,294 and in 1914 when his stable earnings footed up 5,551. He did cot fare so well in the racing of 1915. but was not without a fairly good measure of success. His good handicap horse. Waterbass. while not so successful as he was in 1914. when he won 4,155. was the mainstay of the Turney stable aud won more than half of its total for the year. Of the other horses in his string only the three-year-old colt Burwood was able to win as much as ,000, although the two-year-old Bambi was not far away from doing so. The stable record was: Horse.
