YOUNG ARRIVALS HAVE SOME TROUBLES. . Valuable Thoroughbreds on the Minnehaha Meet * Obstacles to Their Landing. No end of trouble appears to have cropped up in ■ ridding tlie Minnehaha of her valuable cargo of ■ ciume freight, she docked at Tier BB, North river, * between s and 8 oclock Friday morning, but it t secais that something had gone wrong with the e otheial papers eoiiceruiug some of the consignments, uud besides this, some «if the horses were refractory aliout coming ashore, says a New York newspaper of Sunday. The fifteen thoroughbreds belonging to ■ Clarence .Mack ay. Captain Hancocks brown stallion ■ Wrack. Walter Jennings line two-year-old The Cork, and the chestnut yearling by Tolymelus belonging •- to V. It. Coe. all were "lauded safe and i sound Friday night, but the other thoroughbreds s were held up until Saturday morning. Then the six belonging to Edward Johnson were taken ..ff ami removed to Durlauds stable, and the , seven belonging to John Walters were brought out |t in the afternoon to be shipped at once to Nashville, ,_ but the three valuable yearlings brought over ,r for H. T. Whitney were held up and must retnain n on board the Miiinehaha until Monday. Thus the animals which were taken off Friday had been on u board seventeen days, those taken off Saturday y eighteen days, and those of Mr. Whitneys trio 10 will be lucky if they can be transferred after a a stav ou board of twenty days. Waller Jennings two-year-old colt The Cock, was 1S to have been included in Mr. Jennings first shipment, ,. which arrived here on the Atlantic transport •1 liucr Lancastrian some weeks ago, but for some „. leason he was held up for shipment on the Minnehaha, .. lie came ashore Friday night and will be „. sent south to Talmetto Tark, Charleston, to whie.. track Mr. Jennings had removed his training headquarters 1- after a short stay in Aiken. S. C. The * Cock is a chestnut colt. 2. by Toussin, out of a il daughter of the famous Derby winner. Volodyov-ski. ■ which won under the late W. C. Whitneys s colors, he having leased the colt with that special il 1MB in view. This latest addition to the Walter Jennings string is a bright chestnut liberally marked with white. I*- He has good size and substance and has the look k of a race horse all over. Although not as impressive "e or as beautiful as Mr. Jennings other imported ■d two-year-old. Star Hawk, this fellow might be preferred f- to him by many practical horsemen. He is a a thoroughly good-looking coll. with admirable racing 5 outlines, and he has the look of a weight carrier and a stayer. There is absolutely nothing in his make-up or conformation which could reasonably be |, found fault with by a practical turfman in search ■ of a good race horse. He is now in Dr. MeCullys * s stable, and will be shipped to Charleston Monday. John Walters, the well-known trainer and all ,, around turfman from Nashville, brought ash-re seven attractive thoroughbreds from the Minnehann yesterday afternoon. The most striking animal in this shipment was the * brown two-year-old colt Sharp Frost, by Weathercock — Ardent. Morveu is a bright chestnut two-year-eld colt l.y Altnabreac out of Cliodna. This is a youngster of if fair size and considerable substance, well finish .1 .1 and rather racy looking. He looks as if he might it lie a race horse of the thoroughly useful sort. Besides these two-year-olds tliere are five richly ly bred. good siz«*d and promising yearlings of excellent 1- individuality. They are as follows: Bay colt by The White Knight Mi-Gees sire--Marquetry. . Bay colt by Mushroom— Clef dOr. Ba- colt by Sunder —Persuasion. Bay filly by Slimier— Miss Klsie. Bay colt by Thrush — Donna Anna II. The thoroughbreds consigned to Edward Johnson, I who was prominent as a trainer in New York •k twenty years ago. include four two-year-olds and two . ,, yearlings. They are a sb-tit. robust looking lot. ■nd among them doubtless will 1m- found some winners during the season of T.iDi. They are as follows: ]. Land Stock, b. f. 2. by Land League — Australian 11 Daisy. ! Crisselle. eh. f. 2. by Greylcg — Camelot. Sldnnifex. b. f. 2. by Mar.ijax — Charig. Norman"* Pride, br. f, 2. by Norman — Pride. Merrv Littleton, br. f. vearling. by Littleton--Merry . . Wing. Bay filly, yearling by Llangwm — Snapshot. These Johnson thoroughbreds were taken off the * Minnehaha yesterday forenoon and stabled at Du-rands.
