VETERAN BOOKMAKER PASSES AWAY. New ork. January 14. Lea Swattjtj one of the oldest bookmakers in the country, died at his home. 188 West looth street, -last night after a long ill MBS with a complication of roubles. He was sixty-nine year- of age and leaves a widow, but no children. There were seven brothers in the family and six of them are still living. Mr. Swalts was one of tho best known and highly respected members of the Metropolitan Turf Association and has been a-so Cfatted with turf affairs fOC nearly forty years as all owner a| horses and a speculator. The funeral wil be held tomorrow and interment will be in Mount Carmel cemetery.
