JOCKEY TURNER COMES TO GRIEF. Havana. Cuba. January 22. — Jockev Clarence Turner was today ruled off the turf for alleged dishonest practices. The stewards of the Cuba-American Jockey Club find that Tinner, through outside parties, offered a substantial wager on a horse which he Turner 1 rode, to a jockey having the mount on the contender in the same race The stewards also find that Turner had further violated the rules of racing by having had Wagers made for his aeeount and sharing in wagers made by outsiders. The rules of racing specify that so jockey shall wager on any horse in a race other than that which he rides and lhen oulv through the owner or trainer of such horse. The above ruling yvas issued this afternoon and came as the result of an investigation last night into n race run oa Thursday. The officials would not designate what particular race the ruling referred to. but it is surmised that it was that won by Lily Orme. Todays attendance yvas large and the finishes were particularly close in some of the races. J. O. Keene. E. Ticlienor and L. Johnson left for Lexington, Ky.. this afternoon. They went via New Orleans.
