Trainer William Midgcley. who has charge of Clifford A. Cochrans horses, has returned to New-York from New Orleans, where lie raced a string or the Cochran thoroughbreds. He took back to New York only Figiimy and Daddy Dmiglegs. I.ouis Tauher has taken up at Lexington and shipped to Louisville for training the racers Char-tier and David Craig. The hitlers legs, which previously gave 1 1 tin much trouble, are now in such condition tiiat it is believed he will stand training. All of the horses from Cuba that have arrived at Hot Springs look poorly and it is the theory of close observers that they will have to be reacclimateil before they will race well. On the other hand, the Juarez horses at Hot Springs are lookiing fit and ready. P. J. Rons has been quite unlucky in his breeding operations this spring. Six of his eighteen brood miles due to foal have slipped their foals and one. Cr.oe Kimball, died in consequence. At present he is only expecting eight to ten foals from a total of twenty -two mares. Last year he had fourteen from nineteen hroodmares. The extensive stable of thoroughbreds from the Nevada Stock Farm which has been ill training at the Pleasanton Driving Dark since the close of the meeting of the Colden Onto Thoroughbred Rreeders* Association last September, has been shinned home to Reno. New, Hoaeywood to take his place at the head of the stud at the Wingfiehl establishment and the other memlx-rs of the hand to continue their education oxer the Reno course, where they will lie. raced during tiie spring meeting.
