MEETING NEAR ITS FINISH THIS AFTERNOON-S RACING ALL THAT REMAINS OF OAKLAWNS RE-OPENING. Billy Joe Wins His Fourth Race Since the Opening —Feint and Mose Irvine Winning Favorites —Scallywag Beaten and Claimed. Hot Springs. Ark.. April 3. — R. P. Diekersons Rilly J H liecnme the first four-times winner of the Oakl::vn meeting, when he accounted for the three-quarters selling handicap, which brought cut the best aggregation of starters for the day. He showed the way for the entire distance ultimately to win easily over Kootenay. an expected "good thing." witli Stout Heart in third place. Ponte-fract was the other starter, hat retired from serious contention after going a half mile. Considering the numerous departures from here over Sunday, a suprisingly large crowd was in attendance this afternoon. The track had dried out considerably, but still favored those with delicate underpinning and assured plenty of starters in the different dashes. Favorites were fairly successful, lwginning with Feints victory in the two-year-old dash that opened the card, llose Irvine was the next chain to get home in advance and Yolk Lad followed in the succeeding dash. Stout Heart failed the talent in the fourth and Scallywag was the next offender, Mabel Dulwebor and Fairly leading him. The surplus of 08 in the runup fund as the associations part from bidding in selling races, will lie added to the originally announced amounts of the purses tomorrow. Only twenty "information" men were in line this afternoon, it lieing the smallest numlier. except on opening day. for this meeting. Those who dropped off included Charles Cclla. Sol Liechtenstein, "Whity" Heck and William Sippey. Johu McLaughlin and Moze Cozzen departed last night for Lexington. There will be over thirty in the party that will go from here to Tijuana to engage in the racing there beginning April l." . Many of the departing ones intend to book at the new-Mexican course. There were four claims for Scallywag after his defeat in the fiftli race and T. Hodge, represented in the race by Muriels Pet. secured him for 1916.sh00.
