ANMER TO STAND IN ONTARIO. Stallion Presented by King George to the Canadian Thoroughbred Society Arrives at Toronto. Toronto, Out.. April 21. — The thoroughbred stallion Anmer. selected by Lord Marcus Beresford from the royal stud at the request of King George for presentation to Canada as a sire of remounts, has arrived here and is in charge of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society. The cause of the mishap was so badly injured that her death occurred the next day. Anmer was a winner at a mile and a quarter in the Hastings Plato, second in the Payne Stakes and third in the Newmarket. St. Leger and Royal Stakes. He is a brown horse, the characteristic St. Simon color, standing over sixteen hands, with an abundance of quality and substance. Only six years old. he should prove a valuable animal for the purposes for which he was presented. He has been sent by Mr. T. J. McCabe. the secretary of the Canadian Thoroughbred Society, to the Ennisclare Farms at Oakville where Hugh Wilson will take charge of him. The stud fees will be distributed by the Thoroughbred society in premiums at agricultural shows and exhibitions to classes of horses sired by thoroughbreds best suited for remounts.
