RACING CLANS GATHERING BIG CONTINGENT OF OWNERS, TRAINERS, RIDERS AND HORSES REACH LEXINGTON. Kinney and Jack ODowd in Fast Work for the Kentucky Derby — Dodge and Franklin Sent from Louisville. Lexington. Ky.. April 24. — A special train of seven ears brought about one hundred horses from Louisville to Islington this morning for the spring meeting of the Kentucky Association, which is to open next Thursday and for which racing secretary William H. Shelley and superintendent James 1. Boss have everything in readiness at the course. John S. Ward brought in hi* -tring the two prominent Kentucky Derby candidates Franklin and Dodge, also Solar Star and the reputed crack two-year-old Sedan. In John W. Schorrs string is the remarkably fast two-year-old Harry Kelly. The other four brought are John W. Klein, Geo. C. Unt, Frank Coleman and Brizz. Baker Brothers came with fourteen head including tin- boasted two-year-old Judge Young, candidate" for the Mb* Hour Stakes and the Breeders Futurity; Mary l.clle and Tom Anderson, also eligible to the Breeders* Futurity, and the old standhys Amazon and Sleeth. Others on the train were Kay S|.cnce. J. I.. 1aul. Lee Paul. W. J. SiM-ars. J. W. May, Al-x Cordon. Dan Indian and Dick Williams. K. It. Bradleys string of fourteen, in charge of trainer Cliff Uammon, moved in from Idle Hour Farm today. Among riders who came today are Frank Murphy. Roscoe Coose. Cuy Garner, Harry Garner, C. Hunt and Fred Tea ha n. A large number of horses worked this morning and the liest of the day was Hank ODays mile in 1:39%. Next was that of T. P. Hayes Derby team Kinney and Jack ODowd, which worked separately a mile in 1:40% and a mile and an eighth in 1:53%. Doth moves were impressive, but Kinneys was the more so. He is looming up as a possibility for the big prize at Churchill Downs May 13. The Louisville contingent is full of confidence, but the local trainers are telling them they will take their measure as usual. The Lexington horses are ready.
