FAMOUS DAUGHTER OF ST. SIMON DIES. The death is announced iu England of the celebrated mare. La Kleche. at the age of twenty -seven years. La Fleche. which was by St. Simon out of Quiver, was unbeaten as a two-year-old. In her second year she won the One Thousand, but was beaten by Sir Hugo in the Derby. She. how ever. Won the Oaks a couple of days later, and subsequently carried oil the St. Ieger. Cambridgeshire. Ascot Gold Cup and Liverpool Autumn Cap, her total winnings aggregating 78,715. La Kleche. which was a sister to Memoir, the Oaks and St. Lcger winner of 1890, was not a great success at th - stud, though she produced several useful animals.
