YANKEE NOTIONS was saved under restraint in the early running, then drew clear when straightened out in the homestretch and won hard held. DERVISH was outrun for the first half mile, but closed up gamely under punishment and was slightly interfered with when SCHOOLBOY quit at the eighth post. SCHOOLBOY set the pace under hard pressure from the start, but quit badly in the final eighth and was eased up in the closing strides. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. SYOSSET refused to extend himself in the early running and finished fast, but did not appear at ease in the heavy going. RACEBROOK was eased up at the end. CHOICE lost her rider at the third jump.
