OLD MISS forced a fast early mice and easily raced into a good lead in the last eighth. SWEETER THAN" SUGAR was a forward contender from the start and outgamed POSITANO in the final drive. The latter set a fast pace and saved ground on the turns, but tired. PRIVATE finished fast. KESTREL ran well to the stretch. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. PRIVET PETAL forced the pace to the stretch turn where he passed EULOGY, but had to be ridden out to withstand BRANDYWINE. The latter closed a big gap with a rush and was catching the leader with everv stride. YORK LAD was a forward contender all the way. ECLOGY set the earlv pace, but gave way in the stretch. LADY LONDON quit badly. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. SIR LALNCELOT ran well and finished resolutely. SILK BIRD finished close up and so did HKCLAS FLAME. PANELLA was crowded back at the start and made too much use of in racing up into forward contention. Overweights — Wild Horse, 3 pounds.
