THE MASQUERADER TAKES A FAST RACE. Wins All the Wa7 at Hamilton from Good Sprinters s — Chester Krums Jumping Race. Hamilton. Out.. June 2ft. — The XIasquerader r showed a good performance in todays feature race p when he won tiie Burlington Selling Handicap in ii runaway fashion. He carried 114 pounds, made all the pace and l eat Fair Helen by a length. The e three-quarters were run in 1:13. and it was the L. fastest race of the meeting. The ooening raee went to King Hamburg, heavily ■ supported. He was the shortest-priced horse to win „ on the Canadian circuit this year, the straight t mutuels paying only .00. Chester Krum showed a return to his good form „ when he won the steeplechase. F. Williams had him under stiff restraint until the last quarter, • where he raced into an easy lead and won as his I rider pleased. Indian Arrow lost his rider at the fourth jump. Two claims were put in for this horse after the race by Sam Louis and W. Ober-nesser. and in the drawing the latter secured him „ for . Jockey C. Jones was suspended for the remainder - of the meeting by the starter for disobedience at t 1 the itost. The Canadian branch of the Thoroughbred Horse . Association, at a meeting held last night, elected i the following committee: H. Giddings. J. Nixon. , W. J. Press. E. Glnssco. William Walker, T. J. Bird, Henry XIcDaniel. P. Delauey and W. Storm -out. All questions which come up in future relating to Canadian racing must be referred to this committee to oass upon before any action can be taken. It is the" desire of the horsemen to co-operate, in every way. with the different racing associations to improve the sport and it was made evident no snap action will be tolerated and that no one member has the right to speak for the horsemen as a body. Another meeting will l e held Friday night when a chairman and secretary for the committee will be elected It was moved by James Arthur, and seconded by 1*. XL Civill, that the horsemen donate one iK-r cent of the winners share of the purses in all races in future to the Canadian Red Cross fund. This: will be idopted. providing the Hamilton Jockey Club is willing to release the horsem* i- from a for i er obligation to donate .sTO froei the winners share of each purse during the meeting here. Stonehenge came out of his last race in bad condition. The horse fell and injured his shoulder. His owner. II. J. Bedwell. has arranged to ship him back to his farm at Laurel. Xld.. where he will 1m- turned out for the summer. Pardnor and Marjorie A. will lie sent to the farm at the same time to bo rested. Mr. Bedwell this morning purchased Ben Quince from W. C. Weant. A notice was posted in the secretarys office that entries for the opening day of the Fort Krie meeting would be received by Joseph McLennan here on Saturday. Entries to the three-quarters handicap to be run on the opening day will be received at the same time. T. J. Bird has decided to ship Tar Brush and Audrey Austin from here to the Blue Bonnets track at Xlontrenl whore they will remain until the opening of the full meeting of the Moutreal Jockey Club.
