BENEVOLENT was shuttled back immediately after the start, but slipped through next to the rail in the homestretch and closed a big gap. but tired in the final sixteenth. BROOKS was a forward contender all the way and was bumped several times in the final quarter. CORSICAN was cut off while rounding the hist turn and forced extremely wide through the homestretch. SANDOW took a long lead in the final half, but fell at the thirteenth jump. ZELLWOOD refused at the seventh and ABDON and POWDER PUFF fell at the second. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
