RENO MEETING PROGRESSING FAVORABLY. Reno, Nov., July 13. Although it has been rumored that Sangallo would not start in the Nevada Derby, to be run here next Saturday, no information to this effect has been received by the officials of the Reno Fair and Racing Association. As a matter of fact Mr. A. IS. Spreckels, who owns the horse, has been invited here by tin; officers of the association to witness the running of the Derby, which is of the value of ,500. Rank, the valuable .three-year-old owned by George AVingfield, al.so is entered in this Derby and probably will bo coupled in the betting with Washoe IBelle or Rosella, both of which are also candidates. The other entries are Ed Cudihee, which had little trouble in winning here last Saturday, defeating Rank and other fast ones; and Slippery Elm out of the T. Hatfield stable. The attendance has been fair, but "greater attendance is anticipated during the remainder of the meeting. The past week was filled with high-class racing, some of the best blooded animals in tin; land going to the post. The Juvenile Stakes, valued at ,000, will be run next AVednesday, July 19, the distance to be three-quarters. Fifteen two-year-olds, representing the best there is in horseflesh in the far west, are carded to start. Among these are Verde, C. AV. Clarks fast gelding; Maud ISacon, George ISiller-mans winner of the Golden Stakes here last Saturday; George AVingf ields Plucky Chap. Plush, Gladiola, Minnow, Fancy Feathers and Edna F. ; S. Aan Gordens Durward Roberts, Judge Sanderson and Fighter; Charles AV. Clarks Aunt Liz; F. Maces Juanita Frederick, and C. A. Mc-Croans Trcowen. During the first week of the meeting, ending last Saturday, but one accident occured to mar the sport. Jockey Alt was thrown from Nebraska Lass in the third race of the day, sustaining a broken colar bone and a number of minor injuries. His immediate recovery is reported by attending physicians.
