BLUE BONNETS OFFICIAL INJURED ABROAD. Montreal, Que., July 13. Major Rartlett Mc-Douau, whose name appears among the wounded In the overseas casualty list, was not wounded on the field. He was thrown from his horse, his friends here have learned. He is in a London hospital, from which he will bo discharged in a few thiys. He was only bruised by his fall. He is well known in Montreal as a sportsman and financier and has distinguished himself as a soldier in the empires cause. He was born in Montreal in ISliS and educated at Lynn school and at the Royal Military College, where training has stood him in good Stead since he donned the kings uniform. Always taking an active interest in civic affairs, lie was treasurer and a life governor of the Montreal general hospital and the protestant hospital for the insane, an ollicer of the Montreal sailors institute and a director of the Montreal parks and playground association. In the field of sport his horsemanship made him an outstanding figure, being one of the oldest mem-!!trs of the Montreal Hunt Club and a former M. F. 21. He was vice-chairman and one of the first directors of the Montreal Jockey Club and for Several years took a prominent interest in turf matters, but disposed of his stable about seven years ago. As a polo player he won his laurels ifor himself, having taken part in international snatches with the Montreal Tolo Club and the Rack fliiver Polo Club.
