DUFFERIN PARK FAVORITES DO WELL. Toronto, Out., August 4. Favorites again won half the card at Dufferin Park today. Detour barely lasted long enough to win by a head. Golden Ruby and Industry won rather easily, as lid Brookfield. The latter changed -hands after his victory. He was well bucked and led throughout. On his bid of 1916.sh00, an advance of 00, G. Kilpper secured him from former jockey R. M. Small. It was the first run-up of the meeting. The local rider, jockey Acton, had a good day, riding two winners. Magic Rear and Golden Ruby. Gallant Boy furnished the only surprise of the day when lie won the opening dash after a keen .struggle. Constituent also scored by a narrow margin in a hard drive. The weather was again line, the track fast and the attendance large.
