DUFFERIN TRACK AFFECTED BY SAIN. Toronto. Out., August 8. Favorites won half the card at Dufferin Park today, most of them with much to spare. Servicence found the soft track to his liking and made; a show of his opponents in the fourth race. Rusticana, Odd Cross and Rose Oneil all came from behind in the stretch to win their respective races by small margins. The weather was fine and cool and the attendance good but the track was slow from last nights heavy rain. If. M. Small has purchased Glint and Lucky George from J. J. Shannon Blue Wing bled in his race yesterday and did not run to his best form today. James Dockery. the favorite, fell lame during the running of the sixth race. Brookfield changed hands again yesterday, N. L. Snelson claiming him for . E. Denham also claimed Industry for 45. The sprinter Americus broke down so badly after a work-out that he had to be destroyed. The two-year-old Jim Hutch, which fell yesterday, injured his shoulder badly and will be on the shelf for some time.
