HAVRE DE GRACE PROGRESSING FAVORABLY Ordinary Horses Contest the Races, hut Furnish Animated Contests and Finishes. Baltimore, Md., September 13. Mediocre horses raced at Havre de Grace today, but they furnished good racing and attracted quite a volume of speculation. Jock .Scot accounted for the third race after several of the probable contendere had been withdrawn. The winner raced into the lead ijniekly, but was tiring at the end and it took skillful nursing by Tro::ler to land him first in advance of the fast coming Beautiful Morn. J. W. lledrick was responsible for the running up of Griselle from 00 to 00. The horse was protected by J. Wiialen. The weather was somewhat warmer than yesterday and a good-sized crowd journeyed to the picturesque course on the Susquehanna river. The track was at its best, although comparatively slow time was made. William Midgley has sold Kebo to William CabiU at private sale. W. C. Westmoreland and G. K. Ridge will send six horses to Havana Monday. It is probable a full carload will go at the same time. James Johnston and Max Marks are arrivals from Montreal with a number of racers. Tim Murphy arrived from Detroit today and Joseph Hamilton arrived from the same place. H. G. Bedwell reports that ten of his horses are at Laurel awaiting the opening of racing at that track and seven are at Montreal. He has five sucklings at his farm, close to Laurel, by the good horse Prince Ahmed. Golden Rod was jumped on and cut down slightlv in her race today. James W. Coffroth. president and general manager of the Tijuana track, today announced the list of racing officials for the meeting at Tijuana the coming winter. They are as follows: Judges C. II. Juliet was a target for tin- bidders up. being advanced 00 over her entered price, but. was protected by her owner. Henry .1. Morris, representing the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, ruled that, the entry of Susan II. will hereafter be refused in steeplechase racing, because of her unruliness at the barrier in the second race. The mare kicked three horses and so severely injured Agon, as to impair the geldings chances in the race. Tom Horn, winner of the steeplechase, was advanced 09 over his entered price of 00 by ,T.
