LADY TERESA SCORES A VICTORY. Wins the Feature Race of the Havre de Grace Monday Program J. C. Ewalt Again. Baltimore, Md.. September 18. Racing was resumed at Havre de Orate today, when the meeting entered upon its second week. The best race of the day, a selling handicap at one mile and a sixteenth, was marred somewhat by the withdrawals of several of the probable contenders, but it proved a good contest in which Lady Teresa was the winner over Ninety Simplex, with St. Charleote third. The attendance was good and, while speculation did not nearly approach the heavy volume of Saturday, it was fairly brisk. Favorite accounted for a fair share of the purses. Palanquin and Admiration won the lirst and third after they had been contideiitly backed. J. C. F.walt. won the steeplechase, it being a repeater tor this jumper, which won Saturday. Oolden Vale made a bad landing over the first jump and his rider was forced up on the horses neck, the bridle reins going over the horses bead. He rode the entire distance with the reins on one side of the horses neck and finished a creditable third. Delancey accounted for the sixth race after leading throughout. Air Man. the favorite, was in a jam on the first, turn and, from there on to where the stretch was reached, the horse was off his stride, but finally made up considerable ground and finished third. C. IC. Moore has severed his connection with the Hedrick stable and in the future the horses of that establishment will be trained by Steve Judge. Blue Grass Belle, after winning the fifth race, was sold to W. A. Shea, who bid the fillv up to .fl,40il and obtained her. Shi- pulled up lame, probably from a cut on the foot. O. A. Muller. owner of the stable that is being trained by M. Daly, including Flittergnhl and Ieu-moiise, was a visitor today. Frank M. Taylor and David Oider.n were visitors from New York, the latter making the trip to see his filly Admiration race. Jockey Joe Nutter was noticed among the arrivals. He will remain for the rest of the Maryland season. II. D. Brown arrived today from Lexington and While discussing the racing situation at New Orleans said: -The declaration or Mayor Behr-man. of course removed tin- possibility of a clash in dates between City Park and the Fair Grounds. Racing, as I have stated before, will open there at one of the tracks on Thanksgiving Day. 1 have offered in the event that racing is unmolested in New Oilcans for the next fifteen years to deed City Park over to the city of New Orleans for use as":i public park and, in the meantime, when there is no racing there, the city may have the use of the park." After Lady Teresa won the fourth race, J. W. Hedrick advanced her from 81,500 to ,200, at which figure she was protected. The stewards of the meeting have ordered secretary Rchberger to refuse the entries of the horse Superintendent in the future, on account of his antics in the first race today, when he delayed the start by running away and unseating his rider. He was finally excused from starting.
