BLUEBANNOCK moved up steadily in the last half and. standing :i hard drive after saving ground when turning into the stretch, outstayed 15EN HAMPSON in a game finish. The latter raced forwardly from the start and, taking the lead in the stretch, would probably have won but for being forced wide. APPLE JACK showed speed and raced into the lead, but tired near the end. COUNTY COURT dropped back in the last eighth. SHINE-STONE was leading when he fell lame. LOUISE PAUL set a good pace and only tired slightly near the end. SURPASSING closed a big gap in the first three-quarters and. being in tight quarters after rounding into the stretch, fell back in the last sixteenth. KOOTENAY would not extend himself fully but finished well. BIG FELLOW was going well at the end. HAWTHORN quit badly after setting a fast early pace and seems nowhere near good form.
