IMA FRANK WINS HAVRE DE GRACE FEATURE Madame Herrmann Once More a Surprise Big Horse Train for Laurel. P.altimoro. Mil., September 20. Tma Frank succeeded in winning the handicap for fillies and mares of all ages, which was the feature of todays racing at Havre do Grace. She overcame many difficulties in winning, for she met with interference in the early running and was forced to race wide for the entire way. She disposed of Pesky with little trouble in the final eighth and had speed in reserve with which to withstand the belated rush of Anita, which came on fast in the stretch. Fcnmouse. which suffered from the crowding in the first eighth, also came fast at the end. Jockey Taplin, wlio had the mount on Anita, claimed foul against the winner, but the stewards refused to recognize it and the result was allowed to stand as the horses finished. Madame Herrmann demopstrated that her recent victory was no fluke, . for she beat some good platers in the fourth race at one mile and a sixteenth. She dropped out of forward contention in the early running, but finished gamely under urging and was going away at the end. Meshach won the jumping race in easy fashion from poor opposition. J. . Keene was a visitor today and will remain until tomorrow, when he will proceed to Now York to spend a few days prior to his departure for England, Saturday. While abroad Mr. Keene will act for a recently-organized syndicate and will purchase an unlimited number of weanlings for shipment to this country, to become acclimated before being ottered at public auction at the annual yearling sales next year at Saratoga. M. A. Silver, who is here to obtain likely racing material for South American owners, was another arrival today. The active shipping of horses from this track to Laurel will commence Thursday, when a consignment of eight cars "will leave here. Buchanan P.rady. which starts in the seventh race tomorrow, will run in the colors and interests of C. O. Holland. Pay Streak bled upon his return to the scales in the steeplechase.
